WHAT NOT TO DO AHEAD OF YOUR PHOTOGRAPHY SESSION
Like many things in life, there’s a right way to prepare for and show up for your boudoir photography session …. as well as a WRONG way!
From our years of experience working with all types of clients, we’ve come up with recommendations and tips for you to follow to make sure that this day goes smoothly, and that you feel comfortable, relaxed, confident and safe at all times!
Let’s take a look!
Don’t skip the photography session’s orientation
We understand that you might be nervous leading up to your session, that’s completely normal! We intend to make sure you are as comfortable as possible for your shoot, because it is important that your shoot illustrates strength, confidence and expressions that will turn heads!
If you are booked in for a photography session at our studio location, you’ll get a quick and easy orientation of the photography studio, bathroom and private changing room upon arrival.
If you have any special requests, please inform us before your session and we will do our best to accommodate them.
Don’t hesitate to communicate
During your photography session, myself (Abe, photographer) and my female photography assistant will be here to do everything we can to make you feel comfortable, relaxed and at ease. We’re experienced professionals who will walk you through the session every step of the way, and we encourage you to speak up, ask questions, and let us know how you’re feeling. Remember, this session is about YOU and we want it to be a success.
Avoid alcohol ahead of your session
Please do not drink alcohol. We will serve you a glass of champagne/presecco of white sparkling, but this is limited to one regular fluted glass, and water. If you bring a friend or companion, they may have one as well. This is a time of celebration, which means positivity is priority.
Leave the posing to us
We are experts when it comes to boudoir body language. Let us know what type of look you are going for, and we will customize your poses for just you. If you don’t know the look you are going for, then we will do a variety to find out which poses make you glow. Ideas for your shoot could have a seductive, dark and moody, playful, Bed Hair, or invoke your sultry provocative powers thru your photos! Some of my clients have used these photos to set the mood for date night, or just a tease to make your romantic partner thinking about you all day or all night.
Leave the self-hate and negative talk at the door
No self hate or negative talk about your body when you walk in the door. This is a time for you to embrace your femininity, to strut your stuff, because we intend to photograph as you as the goddess that you are! Positive attitudes are a must. We will thrive with your energy, and when we are all on the same page, the session will end magically and organically.
Don’t go overboard with make up
Please do not apply make up to cover up any blemishes, as we can apply edits to any unwanted blemishes during our studio edits, as well as any scars or areas you wish to de-emphasize. We recommend against using self tanning lotions prior to your shoot. Self Tanning often causes a difficult editing process.
Don’t skip dinner
Do not starve yourself. If you are self conscious about a part of your body, just let us know, so we can “de-emphasize” any areas to make your final product perfect. We have special lenses that can take off 10lbs with a click of a button. Your wants and needs are high on our priority list, so please let us know of any concerns you have prior to your session.
No stress, please!
This is YOUR shoot and only yours. our #1 role is for you to enjoy this special shoot and be comfortable. Think of this as a boost of confidence while giving you a chance to show your feminine and sensual side, to give yourself or your romantic partner a glimpse of intimacy. It is our job to capture this side of you and present it as your own personal art. These sensual images of you will ignite a sense of allure and purity for your romantic partner. The female body is an art form, and we intend to capture this energy in the highest quality light and body position. Our goal is to slow things down, engage in positive thinking, and coach your poses into a desired work of art. Music is powerful, so we have a great selection of special boudoir music to guide the mood and pace.
